MW built this file from splitting shared/guide/background.xhpYou can define a background color or use a graphic as a background for various objects in $[officename] Writer.To Apply a Background To Text CharactersSelect the characters.Choose Format - Character.Click the Background tab, select the background color.To Apply a Background To a ParagraphPlace the cursor in the paragraph or select several paragraphs.Choose Format - Paragraph.On the Background tab page, select the background color or a background graphic.To select an object in the background, hold down the CommandCtrl key and click the object. Alternatively, use the Navigator to select the object.To Apply a Background To All or Part of a TablePlace the cursor in the table in your text document.Choose Table - Table Properties.On the Background tab page, select the background color or a background graphic.In the For box, choose whether the color or graphic should apply to the current cell, the current row or the whole table.
