Build Win32 setup only with Unicode support.
Non-unicode ("ANSI") functions were apparently needed only for
supporting Windows 9X, that is not our priority any more.
This simplifies the internal structure of the setup executable.

Search for updates in the main thread. (#427)
Bypass and remove class InitUpdateCheckJobThread.
Updates are not checked automatically any more.
Also, lock the Solar Mutex whenever accessing the GUI.

When installing an extension via Extension Manager the 'Cancel' button is too close to the
fixed line below. On Ubuntu it overlaps it.
This quick fix hopefully moves it far enough to solve it.
